31 Days of Halloween: Day 8 - Waxwork

When you're looking for stories inside a story.

Release Date: June 17, 1988

Starring: Zach Galligan, David Warner, Deborah Foreman, Dana Ashbrook

Genre: Horror comedy

Plot Summary: A group of friends are invited to a private showing at a mysterious wax museum. Inside are 18 horrifying displays, featuring the Phantom of the Opera, a mummy, zombies and a blue werewolf, among others. Any guest who looks at the exhibits for too long becomes entranced by them, and when they decide to "take a closer look," they find themselves trapped inside the very scenes depicted in the displays.

Favorite Scene: The blue werewolf scene. Yes, I now know, as an adult, that the werewolf isn't actually blue and it's just the moonlight making it appear that way, but as a child, I believed the werewolf was blue and that's what I knew this film as, "the blue werewolf movie."

Favorite Quote: "It's such a small world."
"Well then why do you want to end it?"
"Somebody has to."

Notable Trivia: David Warner filmed all of his scenes in two days.

Final Thoughts: Did I mention the blue werewolf? Zach Galligan? Do you need me to say more?
